To start the drill\, the Tiburon Peninsula Office of Emergency Services will sound all six sirens\, at which point participants are encouraged to "Drop\, Cover and Hold on ". Drop to the ground and seek cover under a table\, desk or large piece of furniture and hold on! \n\nDuring this time\, take a moment to think about the supplies you have in your emergency kit and what you might need to replace. If this were an actual earthquake\, would you know what to do next? Do you know how to communicate with your loved ones? What if phones aren't working? Do you know how best to receive emergency information. Is your home safe to be in and if not\, where will you go?\n\nEvery year\, the Reed Union School District\, the library\, town and city staffs and numerous individuals and households participate in the Great ShakeOut.
