Music at Old St Hilary's-A Tribute to Michael Hedges

Music at Old St. Hilary’s is excited to present a tribute to legendary Windham Hill guitarist Michael Hedges, featuring Teja Gerken, Michael Manring, Janet Noguera, and Jeff Titus. A pioneer of modern acoustic guitar, Hedges (who passed away in 1997) was known for his extended playing techniques, groundbreaking arrangements, and best-selling albums such as Breakfast in the Field, and Aerial Boundaries. For this concert, acclaimed Bay Area fingerstyle guitarists Gerken, Noguera, and Titus will perform both pieces by Hedges and ones inspired by him, on a variety of guitars and harp guitars. Electric bass virtuoso Manring, a former touring and recording partner of Hedges’, will play solo and ensemble pieces. Long-time Bay Area flautist Larry Kassin will join as a special guest on a selection of pieces.
